The basic rules of Spin Palace Atlantic City Blackjack are equivalent to the standard game. As always, the dealer represents the casino and the players play against the dealer. The main goal of all players is to obtain a hand that totals close to 21 as much possible and defeats the dealer. If their hand totals greater than 21, the players lose the game. Spin Palace Atlantic City Blackjack is played with eight decks, which is dissimilar to the usual four pack of cards. The dealer has two cards – one facing up and one facing down – at the start of the game. Because it is a hole card game, the dealer can peek for blackjack. If his hand includes an Ace or a 10-valued card, for example, he can peek at his other card. If he really does have Spin Palace Atlantic City Blackjack, the game is over and the players lose their bets. Generally, hole card games are more advantageous for the players because they prevent them from losing more money since they are unlikely to place large bets when the dealer is likely to win. In this variation, players can double down on any two cards after they receive their first two and after splitting. Players can also split a pair for a maximum of three times, totaling four hands. In addition, any 10-valued cards can be split independent of their suit. There is one exception to this rule regarding Aces, however. Aces can only be split one time. Players are dealt with only one card if they decide to split a pair of Aces, and if they split an Ace and receive a 10-valued card, the combination does not result in blackjack but instead 21. The dealer is enforced by the rules to stand on soft 17 whereas the payout for blackjack is 3/2 or 6/5, a decision based on the casino. For all other winning combinations, just like in classic blackjack, the payout is even. In this version, if the dealer has an Ace, the option for insurance can be placed. Usually, the payout for this side bet is 2/1.
